How to get there
Valdelateja is located off the N-623 road between Santander and Burgos in Northern Spain. The nearest airport is Santander located at 65 miles. Bilbao airport is within 95 miles. The best way of transport from the airports is by car. Two daily buses reach the village from the city of Burgos (36 miles) run by the coach company called Alsa.
You could visit several places depending on the length of your stay. For shorter stays, nearby places such as Orbaneja del Castillo, Pesquera del Ebro, Valle de Sedano, Frias en el Valle de la Tobalina y las Merindades are recommended.
For longer stays visit Picos de Europa, lagos de Covadonga, Parque Natural Saja-Besaya,Cuevas de Altamira, the beaches of Suances and San Vicente de la Barquera en Cantabria. The ski resort of Alto Campoo is located 52 miles away.
